Information we collect
This website does not accept an enquiry through a form, does not collect enquiry details on the pages, and does not run a security-check widget.
- Emails. If you email us, we receive your contact details, your message and anything you choose to include.
- Technical information. Our hosting and security providers process connection details (including IP address), the page requested, the time of the request, and browser and device information, so the website can be delivered and protected.
Please send only information relevant to a business enquiry. Do not send sensitive personal information, identity documents or confidential technical material. Sending an enquiry is optional, but without a usable contact address we may be unable to reply.
How we use information and our lawful basis
- Responding to enquiries, assessing potential business relationships and keeping records of those discussions
- Our legitimate interests in running and developing our business
- Taking steps you ask for before entering into a contract with you
- Performance of a contract, or steps before one
- Delivering, securing and fixing the website
- Our legitimate interests in operating a secure website
- Meeting legal and regulatory duties, and establishing or defending legal claims
- Legal obligation, or our legitimate interests
We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects. We do not add you to marketing lists because you sent an enquiry; any separate subscription will ask for your consent.
Who receives information
Information is seen by authorised OceanBlocks personnel handling your enquiry, and by service providers acting on our behalf under written data processing terms:
- Website hosting and domain-name services: Cloudflare.
The website does not operate an enquiry form and does not deliver a form message. A message to [email protected] is sent from the visitor's own email application. OceanBlocks uses Google Workspace for its company mailbox, and [email protected] is an alias on that mailbox. Google Workspace is not used for website analytics and does not process a form on this website.
We may also share information with our professional advisers, or where required by applicable law, or where needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
International transfers
Our providers may process information outside ADGM, including in the United States and other countries where they operate. Where information is transferred to a country that the ADGM Commissioner of Data Protection has not recognised as providing adequate protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard data protection clauses in our providers' data processing terms. You can ask for details of these safeguards by emailing [email protected].
How long we keep information
- Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: deleted or anonymised within 24 months of our last contact with you.
- Enquiries that lead to an engagement: kept for the engagement, then for as long as legal, tax or record-keeping duties require.
- Technical request information: kept only as long as our providers need it to deliver and secure the website, or to investigate a specific incident.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS, and access to enquiry information is limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in the ADGM Data Protection Regulations 2021, you can ask us to give you access to your information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, or provide a portable copy. You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and withdraw any consent you have given without affecting earlier processing.
Email [email protected] to make a request. We normally respond within one month, may ask for reasonable information to confirm your identity, and do not usually charge a fee.
You can raise a concern with us, and you can complain to the ADGM Commissioner of Data Protection. Details are available on the ADGM website.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 18.
